Schulman Management
Background
The client, a referral, was starting his own management company for writers in Los Angeles. He needed a logo and wanted to create an email signature to look professional before a meeting with a certain actor we’ll just call “War Machine.” He initially wanted a text logo.
Process - Brainstorm
I wanted to show a variety of options after our in-depth kick-off conversation. As well as sketches, I did extensive font exploration to present options to Scott for a text-based logo.
Process - Round 1
Based on feedback and additional conversations, I listened to what Scott liked from the sketches and fonts. He requested to see what these options could look like in a signature so some were laid out while new ideas emerged from our conversation. I also continued to explore some graphic options from the sketches.
Process - Round 2
After a conversation with the client to discuss Round 1, I revised and refined options and added any other requests/ideas that come up during the conversation.
Process - Round 3
I continued to revise and refine as well as add new ideas as they come up.
Final Design
Once we landed on a final logo and branding, I helped Scott with the logistics of taking the designed signature into Gmail and Outlook. He opted for using actual text for his name and phone number, rather than a graphic that used his font, from my recommendation to ensure his name could be searched easily and the phone number clicked on to call him quickly.
